Homelessness Week

In Australia there are almost 123,000 people experiencing homelessness on any given night.

Homelessness Week aims to raise awareness of the impact of homelessness, the solutions needed to end homelessness and to educate communities on how they can make a difference.

During the week homelessness services and community groups educate the community and advocate for change via national and local community events, media and social media activities.

Connected Libraries will be taking part in this initiative by creating and displaying our own Origami Houses and as well as collecting non-perishable food items to be donated to local charities, listed below.

Origami Houses
Monday 4 August – Sunday 8 August
We will be creating our own Origami House display at our libraries. Drop into any of our libraries to take part in the creation of these houses.
