Connected Libraries are excited to partner with Swinburne University in their Children’s University program.
This program promotes learning opportunities outside the classroom for children aged between 7-14 years and volunteer opportunities for 15–18-year-olds; with the aim to engage children and young people in learning and to help them develop confidence and aspirations.
As a Learning Destination we offer children attending our after school programs a range of fun, high quality educational experiences.
All Children’s University Swinburne members are issued a Passport in which students collect stamps from different Learning Destinations they have visited and record their learning or volunteering activities.
Once they have fulfilled a minimum of 30 hours of learning, they will be invited to a graduation ceremony at Swinburne University in Hawthorn, just like other University students!
Children aged 7-14 who are part of the Children’s University program can present their passport to Connected Libraries after-school program leaders (as long as they have booked in and attended the session) and get their passport stamped. This will commence from Monday 21 July (Term 3), and will also include attendance at Holiday programs specific to 7-14 year olds (commencing in Spring School Holidays).
