Your chance to meet THE one and only Judy Nunn
We can't quite believe that acclaimed actor and best-selling Australian author Judy Nunn is coming to visit us in November! But she really is and this is your chance to hear all about her life journey and her brand new novel, Khaki Town. We are SO EXCITED!! Judy has had an extraordinary career. After combining an internationally successful acting career with scriptwriting for television and radio, Judy decided in the 90s to turn her hand to prose. And hasn't she done that well - at least a dozen bestsellers, she is widely considered as one of Australia's leading fiction writers.
You'd better get in quick though, this event will be super popular. There is a small charge of $5 to cover the hire of the the Function Centre but you'll get a drink on arrival, and there are door prizes up for grabs! It's going to be a fab night and we CAN'T WAIT!

On October 17, we've got a special Spirit Day Rainbow Storytime where everyone is invited to wear purple as a sign of support of LGBTIQA+ youth. And lastly, in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the LGBTIQ movement in Australia, we'd love you to join us on October 18 for an expert panel of speakers reflecting on queer history, community and experiences.
ALL of our branches will be CLOSED on Wednesday, October 9 for our annual staff training day. All of our library staff will be getting together to learn, be inspired and work out how to deliver an even BETTER library service.

Linda is deaf, and was brave enough to come along to our Monday Crafternoon. Linda's beautiful story illustrates how libraries can change lives in ways we might not expect.
"I have a library membership and when I saw some knitting and crochet displayed I came along. I cannot lip read, but can sign and write on note paper. The craft group makes me happy and I look forward to coming. I have made these baby booties and hat with the help of the ladies in the group as I find it difficult to follow written instructions in English. I now feel very accomplished in my knitting and crochet."
