Children and Youth Customer Experience Library Officers - Band 4

Permanent full time roles
Salary range between $68,937 to $74,480, plus super (pro rata if part time)
$37.88 to $40.92 per hour

About the business and the role

Connected Libraries has three positions available in our Cranbourne, Endeavour Hills and Hampton Park Libraries.

  • Cranbourne Library – Full Time 35 hours per week, plus 1 Saturday in 4 and 1 Sunday in 8
  • Hampton Park Library – Full Time 35 hours per week, plus 1 Saturday in 4 and 1 Sunday in 8
  • Endeavour Hills Library – Full Time 35 hours per week, plus 1 Saturday in 4 and 1 Sunday in 8

We have several exciting opportunities to join our specialist youth teams within our Cranbourne, Hampton Park and Endeavour Hills Libraries.

If you enjoy working with children and are excited to organise and present children and youth activities for our community, then this is the role for you!

Other duties include developing and running school holiday programs, working with local kindergartens and schools and maintaining our libraries youth collections.

Although this role specialises in youth, you will also be required to provide on desk customer experience in our libraries.

Key selection criteria

  • Knowledge and skills gained through on-the-job training commensurate with the requirements of the role
  • Post-trade or other post-secondary education
  • Proven experience facilitating children’s programs, either in public libraries or in a teaching capacity
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently provide quality customer service
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate with all ages across all levels of community
  • Sound organisational skills
  • Strong information technology and problem-solving skills in a range of information technology and software tools
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet organisational strategic outcomes
  • Ability to undertake supervisory responsibilities as required
  • Driver’s licence
  • Working with Children Check
